خطبه ۲۴۰-سخنی با عبدالله بن عباس نکوهش از موضع گیری‌ها ناروای عثمان ای پسر عباس! عثمان جز این نمی خواهد که مرا سرگردان نگهدارد، گاهی بروم، و زمانی برگردم، یک بار پیغام فرستاد از مدینه خارج شوم، دوباره خبر داد که باز گردم، هم اکنون تو را فرستاده که از شهر خارج شوم بخدا سوگند! آنقدر از او دفاع کردم که ترسیدم گناهکار باشم.
