وقتی از معنی عبارت زیر از امام پرسیدند، فرمود: لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَةَ إِلاَ باللهِ ما با وجود خدا مالک چیزی نیستیم و مالک نمی‌شویم، مگر آنچه او ما را مالک آن گردانیده است پس هرگاه به ما چیزى عطا کند که او از ما سزاوارتر به آن باشد وظیفه ای بر عهده ما گذاشته است و هرگاه آن را از ما گرفت تکلیف خود را ازما برداشته است.
