بعضی از یهودیان به امام گفتند: پیامبر خود را دفن نکرده، درباره‌اش خلاف ورزیدید امام در پاسخ فرمود: ما بعد از او اختلاف کردیم نه (در زمان) او اما شما هنوز پاهایتان از آب دریا خشک نشده بود که به پیامبرتان گفتید «براى ما هم خدایى بساز همانطور که آن‌ها (مصریان) را خدایانى است موسی (به شما) گفت: شما حقا! قومی نادان هستید.».
