شگفتا آیا معیار خلافت، صحابی پیامبر بودن است؟ اما صحابی بودن و خویشاوندی ملاک نیست؟ سید رضی می‌گوید از آن حضرت شعرى در همین زمینه نقل شده است (خطاب به خلیفه اول اگر تو از طریق شورى مالک امور مردم شدى چگونه شورایى بود که صاحبان راى و مشورت در آن حاضر نبودند و اگر از طریق قرابت با پیامبر صلى الله علیه و آله و سلم در برابر مخالفانت استدلال کردى دیگران از تو به پیامبر صلى الله علیه و آله و سلم نزدیکترند!):!
